The symptoms of ADD or ADHD are everywhere in our fast-paced world. Being easily distracted or having trouble with organization is so common place in our environment, it’s not unusual for someone to joke, “Sorry, my ADD was acting up!” or “SQUIRREL!”

Parents of active children might be encouraged by teachers or school administration to “put that kid on medication,” because they are restless in the classroom or blurt out answers instead of waiting until called on in class.

But is it really ADD/ADHD? How can we know for sure?

Mending Clinic provides testing for ADD/ADHD to give you the best chance at finding a solution for you or your child.

Test results are informative and easy to understand, and gives you hope to find the next steps for you or your child for ADD/ADHD.

Like all behavioral health and medical diagnoses, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are fancy names for a set of symptoms. Having ADD/ADHD does not imply you are a bad student or can’t lead a full life. In fact, as long as negative ADD/ADHD symptoms are managed, the ability to easily jump from one topic to another or have high energy gives a person an edge on being extremely successful.

Testing for ages 6 and above consists of a simple 15-20 question game, during which the computer measures their attention span in 30 second segments and tracks head motion. This tells our clinician the number of attention shifts, or gives us the zigzag pattern of attention state.

Today you may have more questions than answers, but there is hope.

Take the first steps to achieve a healthier and more productive life by seeking a better understanding of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
